Update 7/29/20
Immanuel Kids Reopening Procedures Moving Forward
New procedures for Reopening

  • Cleanliness
    - Wash hands/use hand sanitizer before and after serving
    - Anything touched must be sanitized between services (can be during services if it won’t be
    touched again
    - Use Spray Disinfectant/Paper Towels when children are not around
    - Use Disinfecting Wipes when children are present...but be mindful that they are still
hard to find and are more expensive
    - Stair handrail to the K-5 room needs to be sanitized several times during pick-up/drop-
    off
    - AIRPLANE ARMS...have kids hold their arms straight out to the side and then twist their body
back and forth to create space
    • -  Instruct kids to do airplane arms whenever they are sitting in groups or standing in line
or just seem way too close
    • -  We know its impossible to keep every kid 6 feet away from every other kid the entire
time they’re here; this just helps out a little
      - Practice air high 5s, air hugs, and air fist bumps...we want to avoid touching the children - We need to keep a strict attendance record...just in case
      - Contact Service Lead if you think a kid is getting sick while in your care...they can do a
      temperature check/alert parents
      - Leader name tags will be pre-printed...you do not need to check in at a computer. We are
working to get leaders transferred to the touches check-in. An update will be sent out when we
      switch over.
      - All volunteers are required to wear a mask while serving.
      - Water, kids may bring their own reusable cup with water already inside as our fountains will
remain closed. We will have a table or counter space with a grid to keep cups distant from each other and little hands to only their cup.
  • Kid Arrival
    • -  Kids and leaders will get touchless temperature checks upon arrival. If they have a fever and it’s
hot out ask them to step aside and take another temperature after a few min. If they come back
with a temp at 100.4 or above the family will be asked to join us online for that week.
    • -  Parents are encouraged to only have 1 parent do pick-up/drop-off
    • -  Kids need to wash hands (K-5 and Preschool Room) or use hand sanitizer (Toddler Room) upon
      arrival, before they touch anything
  • Kid Departure
- To keep things touchless as possible, instead of scanning barcodes at pick-up, we will only do a
visual check to make sure the codes match. Don’t touch the parents barcode and have the child/parent remove the name tag
• Early Childhood Specifics

  • -  Parents should leave anything you might need for their child on the counter so we aren't’ digging through diaper bags
  • -  We will be using our own diapers for the time being...unless the parent puts their own diaper on the counter
  • -  Toddler Room...point out number or letter on rug for each kid to sit on for story time
  • -  Preschool Room...point out carpet square for each kid to sit on (we aren’t suing the carpet
circles) and we won’t do gym time initially
  • -  Crafts will only use crayons...there are separate crayons for first service and second service so we don’t have to sanitize each crayon (they’re labeled)...if you have enough, give each kid their own container
  • -  NEW CURRICULUM! We switched curriculum over quarantine, so story scripts, story pictures, and craft sheets will look a bit different, but the flow of the service will be the same (memory verse, song, story, craft)
• K-5 Specifics
- No gym time initially
- Chairs won’t be used in the main group room
- We won’t be passing out invite cards and Konnect cards will be digital

Dear Immanuel Family,
5-29-20
It has been twelve weeks since we last gathered. When we first started meeting online in March, snow was still falling and the anticipation of the spring was on many of our minds. Today our tree leaves are on full display, flowers have bloomed, and summer is just around the corner. It would be an understatement to say how much we have missed you! There is so much work God is doing in our patient waiting during this incredibly different and at times confusing season.
The Apostle Paul instructed the early church how to grow in such times...

“...Encourage those who are timid. Take tender care of those who are weak. Be patient with everyone. See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people. Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:14b-16)

We have been filled with the awe and joy of our Savior seeing him at work during this pandemic. During this time we have seen people connect with Jesus for the first time and people reconnect with church. We believe God is doing a deep work in you!

In our video today, we update you where we are at in the preparation phase and also a target date to regather.
As we begin to move towards a regathering date, I want to reiterate our commitment to our church family that will be staying at home. We will continue to stream on kenosha.church and can’t wait to see you in the future.

We are grateful for your patience and your faithfulness to God during this season. Now is the time for a divided world to see Christ’s church on mission and united around His gospel. We were made for such a moment as this!

In Christ Alone, Andy

COVID-19 Update 4/1/2020
Digital services continue through April: Good Friday Worship, Easter, and communion details!

Five Online Easter Services:
In continuing to reduce the spread of COVID-19, the federal government has extended social distancing guidelines until at least April 30. We pray for the end of the virus and healing of the sick. We will resume live services when it has been deemed safe, and until then, we are committed to meeting together digitally through Sunday morning online services and digital life groups. As a result, we have decided to make the most of Easter by offering five online services. This will allow extra space for bandwidth and extra chances for you to personally invite your friends to one of our services. Andy has a special message which will include communion! Tom and the worship team will provide a space to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus! Let’s break the internet together with five identical services 6:30am (sunrise), 9:00am, 10:45am, Noon, and 5:00pm. Kids services will be available at every service at www.kenosha.church/live.
Celebration of Communion During Easter Services:
Part of our Easter service will include the celebration of communion. We will provide instruction during the service; you will need to pick up juice and bread at the store. If you have any questions, please feel free to message us!

Good Friday Worship Night, April 10 at 7:00pm!
Join us at Kenosha.Church/live for the best of Immanuel Kenosha.Church Worship. Our pastors and moderators will join the chat live to pray with you.

Future “In Person” Worship Celebration
We may be celebrating Easter Sunday online but when we return to live services in the near future we are going to save all what we had planned for our live Easter service for our return celebration. Stay tuned!!!

Final Thoughts
We have been praying for you! We pray that God drives you to a deeper place of worship, knowledge, and resolve to participate in His mission. We are praying for your health, your job, and your overall well-being.
God has been showing up in many ways! People have placed their faith in Jesus, and people are connecting to Immanuel and life groups for the first time! We are for the spiritual and physical health of Kenosha. We are exploring opportunities with community partners that we are excited to share very shortly!

There has never been a time like now to get into God’s word, set aside space to pray to God, and to reach those for Jesus. God is preparing you for the season ahead and wants you to make the most of the “pause” we are experiencing.

In Christ,
Pastors Andy, Tom, Will and The Elders
Update 3/17/2020:
Online Only Service Continues Until At Least March 29, Life Groups To Go Digital, Awesome Stories From Last Sunday
______________________________________________________________
Last Sunday’s streaming service was a huge success! Early indications show that we had about the same attendance, if not more, than a regular Sunday. Heaven and our church rejoices as we even had someone place their faith and trust in Jesus! The gospel cannot be stopped! It is an understatement to say that we missed worshiping in person with you all, and we cannot wait for that Sunday when we are back together. I believe when we return, there are going to be people who are new to the church and faith! Don’t stop thinking of new and creative ways to invite your friends. I believe people are more open to the gospel than ever before! Be sure to see some of the stories from last weekend at the end of this letter, but FIRST, read the important updates below.

Further Adjustments:
In continuing with the extraordinary actions to reduce the spread of COVID-19, yesterday the White House requested people to avoid social gatherings of ten people or more for the next fifteen days. The leadership and elders are committed to keeping our church connected as a family as well as protecting the most vulnerable in Kenosha. That is why we are committed to seeking the wisdom and guidance of the Lord, from the CDC, and local health officials when formulating our decisions.
With this in mind, we have extended our online only services to at least the end of March. Our service times remain at 9:00AM and 10:45AM. Also due to the limited size of meetings, our Life Groups will be meeting digitally until at least the end of the March. As we stated on Sunday, the church is not a building or an event – it is a people bound together by His mission and heart.
_______________________________________________________________
Online Only Sunday Services March 22 and 29:
At Immanuel, we can’t wait to see you again at our physical location. Until we have been given the all clear, you can find our online service Sundays at 9:00AM and 10:45AM at the following three locations:
http://www.kenosha.church/live
Immanuel Kenosha.Church
Kenosha church app Google Store, Apple, and Amazon links
Immanuel Kids will run concurrently with our main service at 9:00AM and 10:45AM
Revolution Middle and High School will stream on Sundays at 6:30PM
We ask that to stay in your routine, you attend at the time you would normally attend from your home or with a small group of friends at 9:00 AM or 10:45 AM. Parents, we would love for you to attend the service at your normal time and then watch Immanuel Kids during the other service to engage with your kids and what they are learning.
_______________________________________________________________
Life Groups Going Digital Until the End of March:
We believe it is crucial you commit to connecting with your Life Group to encourage and pray with each other. Unfortunately, as stated above, we will be meeting through digital platforms such as Google Hangouts, Zoom or Skype. Your Life Group leader will be reaching out to you for access. Community is core to who we are and although not ideal, we thank God for technology that makes meeting together possible even in the most extreme circumstances. This is often how the church stays together in the underground church today. We will revisit “in person” Life Groups at the end of March. If you are not currently in a group, we highly encourage you to sign up for Life Groups at kenosha.church/lifegroup so you can be in a group.
_______________________________________________________________
Online Giving For Bucket Giving:
We are so thankful for your constant financial generosity! Our church is dependent on your generous gifts to meet daily needs. If you give during the services in the bucket or online only when you attend, we would encourage you to make your gifts online and recurring. Online services, future use of in-person ministry, staff and mission partners are dependent on our weekly generosity. You can give your tithes and offerings at
www.kenosha.church/give
_______________________________________________________________
Share Your Stories on Our App
The highlights of this weekend was seeing the pictures of people worshiping in their homes, kids dancing, and people responding to Jesus. We would love to hear your stories. You can share your stories by click the “Respond” Button on the app and click “I have a cool story.”
_______________________________________________________________
As leaders, we have made it a priority to keep an open line of communication with the Immanuel Kenosha.Church family. Our heart is for you to be in the loop on the decisions we’re making and the reasons behind those decisions. We will continue to utilize email and social media to share updates as the situation continues to evolve.
Also please feel free to message us on our facebook page or connect with us on our app.

Final Thoughts:
The writer of Hebrews writes in Hebrews 10:25,
not neglecting to gather together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day approaching.
We believe God commands his people to gather together to be his church and to advance His mission. We would not stop meeting in person if it were for anything other than disease, but in this case we could harm our church family and even our city, we thank God we can still meet virtually to be his church! Commit to gathering together as one church, chat with each other during the service with our host team and moderators, and anticipate the BIG PARTY we will have when we get back together.
Pray for our national and local leaders, pray for our church, pray for healing, that COVID-19 will miraculously be eradicated and that as a result we would see a harvest we have never seen since the early church!
We worship a very BIG GOD!

PREVIOUS UPDATE:
SUNDAY SERVICES GOING TO ONLINE ONLY
As we alluded to in our communication from the Elder board yesterday, the spread of COVID-19 has impacted our cities, nation, and world in significant ways. Closer to home, it’s impacted you and me, and it’s impacting Immanuel Kenosha.Church. Wisconsin governor, Tony Evers, declared a public health emergency that has now resulted in the closure of our public schools in order to heighten the state’s readiness to respond to COVID-19. Today President Trump declared a national emergency. This is a moment for Immanuel to help in the effort to contain this virus and for us to be for our people and for our city to the glory of Jesus.
With that in mind, we have decided to have an online-only services until further notice, beginning this Sunday, March 15 at 9:00 AM and 10:45 AM. At this time, the office will remain open, but the building will not be available for ministry use. In the wake of this decision we reflect on the fact that the Church is not a building or an event – it is a people bound together by His mission and heart. With this truth in mind, we will process a response to this evolving situation and the mandates implemented by our civic leaders on a week-by-week basis.

We would love for our life groups to meet. We believe like never before that Acts 2 style relationship and community can arise. We will give further guidance about life groups late Monday, March 16. Sign up for life groups at kenosha.church/lifegroup

What To Do In This New Reality:
Connect Online: during the time of “social distancing” we need to be intentional with connecting with people at Immanuel Kenosha.Church during Online Service and on social media on Facebook and Instagram
Connect Personally: call, facetime, send a text to someone in church and pray for them
Pray: for those impacted by the virus, our city, our church family
Invite: Yes! you can still invite even when online—invite someone over to watch, if possible, bring a friend to a Lifegroup.
Share: During this era of uncharted territory, people are going to be hungry for answers. Share Jesus. Download the Lifein6Words app to help start the conversation.

How You Can Stay Tuned:
As leaders, we have made it a priority to keep an open line of communication with the Immanuel Kenosha.Church family. Our heart is for you to be in the loop on the decisions we’re making and the reasons behind those decisions. ————————————————————
Remember we are God’s church and He is calling us to rise up in the most difficult times. I believe God is moving his bride in uncharted territory to shine brighter than ever before. As the people of God, he has brought us to this very moment in history to be his church! The American church has never had to face this type of disruption and with that we pray Lord Jesus will move through us!
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
-Romans 8:37-39
